The Fight is Far From Over
Today is a celebratory one for many as the flotilla members who were released have begun to return home and be reunited with their families. Though, the participants have unanimously cited sickening levels of violence, cruelty, and abuse during their illegal detention. This has unfortunately been the case for our loved ones, for whom we started this page. They did not return today as we hoped because they are still hospitalized with severe injuries, some requiring surgical intervention. We have not heard any additional news of their location or state.
Their release is not the end of the fight or conversation. Our government has failed in allowing them to be taken, and is now failing in providing adequate care or communication in the wake of the trauma already endured. We fight for accountability for these atrocities committed against innocent humanitarians, and even more so for those committed against innocent Palestinians who have no way to share their stories as we do.
Don’t let up the pressure, continue to act and contact your representatives. And, please keep our two heroes in your thoughts as we await for news of their wellbeing and return home.
