What We Know So Far

Many reports and images began circulating yesterday on social media of the extreme violence and inhumaine treatment of the flotilla participants being detained in Ashdod. The legal team supporting the mission confirmed and expanded on these claims, citing hospitalizations, broken ribs,  use of tasers and rubber bullets, prolonged stress positions, psychological abuses, degradation, and sexual violence. Representatives of Israel posted videos demeaning and taunting them, showcasing their extreme tactics with pride. 

These acts are not new behaviors or patterns, as we have witnessed this and worse for decades against Palestinians also illegally held within Israeli prisons, many of which died before seeing freedom again. All that we have seen here is a fraction of the terror tactics used in this genocide, and all of it is unacceptable. 

This a moment to act, to increase the pressure on your governments, and to continue to educate ourselves on the history of Palestine. This level of abuse should never have been tolerated, and we will not tolerate it now. We thank you for signing and committing to ending this reign of violence, and keep your voices loud!
