Petition Concerning Fairness for the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) leaders!
The Issue
Honorable Judges of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers,
Initiative of ACPAC (Albanian Canadian Political Action Committee) / corporation number: 1661010-2, registered under the Canada Non-For-Profit Corporations Act on Dec 20th 2024.
We, the undersigned individuals, ethnic Albanians living in the diaspora from various countries around the world, write to respectfully express our deep interest in the proceedings and outcomes related to former Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK) leaders.
As members of a community directly connected to the historical and social context in which these events occurred, we wish to emphasize the importance of:
1-Ensuring the highest standards of due process and judicial fairness
2-Upholding the principles of impartiality and equality before the law
3-Carefully evaluating all evidence with full consideration of historical circumstances
4-Maintaining transparency to preserve public confidence in international justice mechanisms
We respectfully request that the Court:
1-Ensure that all defendants’ procedural rights have been fully protected
2-Provide clear and comprehensive reasoning in its judgments
3-Remain attentive to any credible concerns regarding evidentiary standards or witness reliability
4-Continue to uphold the integrity and independence of international justice
Our intention is to affirm our belief that justice must be both done and seen to be done. The legitimacy of international tribunals depends on public trust, procedural rigor, and adherence to universally recognized human rights standards.
We thank the Court for its careful attention to this matter and for its commitment to the rule of law.
Respectfully,
Ethnic Albanians living in the Diaspora
