A big "Thank you" to everyone who signed the petition, took the time to comment, shared it on forums and helped to raise the awareness.  We recently crossed 650+ signatures, which is a great response and has made the council take notice. I am reliably informed that the parish council have discussed the support for the 30mph zone being extended from the New Town up to the Red Lion or possibly further towards Clay St.   They've escalated the matter to County Council for funding the formal evaluation process.  This is likely to involve the use of speed strips being positioned somewhere along the Penn Road B474 post lockdown, to monitor usual traffic patterns and compile data for type of vehicle and speeds throughout the day and night.

We hope to hear something definitive in the coming weeks as to when the stripes will be in place and how the data will be used to support our request to extend the 30mph zone and help reduce the speeding on the Penn Road
