Wedding of the Sea 2019 is Almost Here!! Come to Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall Thursday Morning Aug. 15 for the beginning of The Wedding of the Sea.
This is one of the most beautiful Masses ever...over 3,000 people in Boardwalk Hall. Followed by the Bishop sharing a ceremonial "Ring" of flowers with the Ocean off Mississippi Ave in Atlantic City. Plus an Historic Italian Festival on St. Michael's Church grounds with music and foods from the many ethnic groups in the Ducktown section of Atlantic City. This celebration is hundreds of years old originating in Venice, Italy and carried to Atlantic City by the same immigrants that built St. Michael's Church. The Parish of St. Monica now celebrates this history along with the citizens of Venice Italy as we also recount the many blessings than we share with of the "marriage" of Sea and Atlantic City and a special dedication to Mary the Mother of Jesus on the day of her Assumption. ______________________________________________________
Thurs. 8/15 and Will we 'Sea' You?
We here on the planning committee, and on behalf of Father Jon, we'd love to have you join us again. We've been feverishly working, finishing the last minute details for an incredible event! We will be celebrating over 5 decades of Wedding of the Sea in Atlantic City in just a few short weeks.
Remember how you felt when you attended before? Being at the shore, seeing boardwalk hall, the procession, seeing Bishop Sullivan ride out past the waves at the beach to bless the ocean joining the sea and the city?
THANK YOU for your support. We look forward again to welcoming you again at this year's Wedding of the Sea.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Jon Thomas
