NEWS FLASH!! WEEKLY MASSES TO BEGIN AT ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH ON JUNE 19

This is great news for all Absecon Island & offshore residents who want to support St. Michael’s Church and “Come Home” to our beautiful 113 year old church in Ducktown. In a meeting last week with representatives of the St. Michael’s Church Preservation Society (SMCPS), the neighborhood business owners, and the Parish Council, Fr. Jon Thomas, the pastor of St. Monica’s Parish, agreed to celebrate Mass at 10:00 am every Sunday beginning on June 19 through Sept. 11. This weekly Mass will be in addition to the Special Feast Day Masses celebrated each month. The entire schedule for the year will be announced shortly by St. Monica’s Parish and the SMCPS. Regular Sunday Masses were discontinued in September 2015. The SMCPS believes that attendance at regular weekly Mass at St. Michael’s Church will provide everyone a way to participate in preserving this historic building and to support the area businesses. Most importantly this is an opportunity to “Come Home” to St. Michael’s.
