Penny Auction at St. Michaels

The Mary Help of Christians Sodality, a supporter of the St. Michael’s Church Preservation Society, will sponsor a Penny Auction on Friday, April 15 in Quaremba Hall. The doors open at 5:00pm with the live auction starting at 7:00pm. The proceeds of the Penny Auction will benefit Our Lady Star of the Sea Regional School, the only Catholic School on Absecon Island. There will be approximately 200 gifts and gift cards for auction. The items range from small appliances such as coffee makers, toaster ovens, hand mixers, toasters, crock pots, etc. The fun begins as guests buy envelopes of either 100 or 500 chances for either $1.00 or $5.00 respectively. Then bidders place chances in containers for the respective prize. The winners for each prize are chosen from among the chances. There will also be special drawings for other valuable prizes through-out the evening. Get there early to make your "bids" on the best prizes. Or just stop by to say “hello” to your neighborhood friends, and enjoy some real Italian food. There is no entrance fee. The Mary Help of Christians Sodality is and has always been the most reliable source of volunteer and financial support for St. Michael's Church. We are all most grateful for their dedication. Enjoy, Bob Venafro
