St. John Bosco, from Turin, Italy was a follower of St. Francis de Sales in the 19th century and was dedicated to serving the forgotten youth of the newly industrialized society. He founded the order of Salesian Sisters that operated St. Michael’s School in Atlantic City from 1912 to 1989. A full wall painting of “Don Bosco”- as he was known- is on the east wall of the choir loft in the Church. Fr. Quaremba, who established St. Michael’s Church and School, was especially dedicated to both him and his counterpart St. Maria Mazzarello, as the best model for teaching the boys and girls of Atlantic City.
Be well,
Bob
