Last Sunday’s presentation at St. Michael’s Church on, “100 years of Art and History at St. Michael's Church" was a great success. Atlantic City native and Professor of Art Dr. John Calabrese showed the 225+ attendees the hidden artistic and design elements as well as the timeless messages they conveyed. The presentation made us realize that the art and structure of St. Michael's Church built by Italian immigrants is about Hope. This virtue was infused into its architecture, paintings, statues, and frescos 100 years ago and it continues to speak to us. This timeless gift cannot be destroyed by unemployment, cynicism, or greed and is available for all who seek it. The St. Michael’s Church Preservation Society is now planning more talks to highlight the social, cultural, historical and spiritual value of St. Michael's Church to the community. If you like to see some images of the presentation go to Savestmikes on facebook or email me at Bvenafro@gmail.com. A video and script of the presentation will be made available soon. Merry Christmas Bob
