It’s frustrating to see time pass without any follow-up to this amazing and innovative franchise. TRON has not only captivated generations with its stunning visual effects and immersive storylines, but it also represents a milestone in the development of cinema. However, the lack of consistency and continuity in the production of new films or games is concerning and unsatisfying for loyal fans, as is the fact that few projects are released with such a long gap between them that people end up forgetting the saga—especially if the projects aren’t made with 100% love and quality.

It is crucial that Disney consider tackling this challenge by dedicating the necessary resources to produce a fourth TRON film in less than 15 years. This new installment should serve as a continuation of TRON: Ares in terms of its potential plot, which could be developed based on what is seen in the post-credits scene, while also providing a fitting conclusion to Sam Flynn’s story arc—about which we know very little, other than the brief mention that he resigned. We want a triumphant conclusion that honors both the legacies of the Flynns and the Dillingers, as well as the rich tradition of the saga, respecting its visual style, its philosophy, its legacy, its soundscape, and, of course, the natural development of each character without forcing it; because TRON needs compelling projects, good marketing, and a strong plot—not mediocre projects or ones that limit those involved in production. They should allow the team to do what they want as long as they respect TRON’s canon and philosophy; and, of course, they shouldn’t break any rules or do anything inappropriate.

Furthermore, it is essential to bring back iconic characters such as Quorra, Ed Dillinger Jr., TRON, and others like Beck, Yori, and Dumont (or at least mention them, since Yori, RAM, Dumont, Walter Gibbs, and other characters have been all but forgotten), thereby offering a narrative that is cohesive and faithful to the original canon. The possibility of exploring new spin-offs, developing more games, or even continuing a spin-off series should also be considered to expand and enrich the TRON universe; or, if possible, continuing the story that was introduced in TRON Uprising.

Disney has a responsibility to listen to its fans, and now is the perfect time for Disney to demonstrate its commitment to the quality and innovation that TRON represents by giving it unlimited opportunity to unleash its full potential. Please sign this petition to ask Disney to redouble its efforts and deliver a continuation of the TRON saga that lives up to our expectations but also allows new generations to identify as fans of this beautiful saga.

Es frustrante ver cómo el tiempo pasa sin que se le dé continuidad a asombrosa e innovadora franquicia. TRON no solo ha cautivado a generaciones con sus efectos visuales impresionantes y tramas envolventes, sino que también representa un hito en el desarrollo del cine. Sin embargo, la falta de consistencia y continuidad en la producción de nuevas películas o juegos es preocupante y poco satisfactoria para los seguidores leales, o el hecho de que saquen pocos proyectos con una brecha temporal terrible que permite que la gente olvide la saga, y más si los proyectos no son hechos al 100% con amor y con calidad.

Es crucial que Disney considere abordar este reto dedicando los recursos necesarios para producir una cuarta película de TRON en menos de 15 años. Esta nueva entrega debería dar continuidad a TRON Ares en cuanto a su posible trama que se puede plantear con lo que se aprecia en la escena postcréditos, mientras también proporciona un cierre digno al arco de Sam Flynn, el cual no sabemos mucho ,más que su pequeño argumento de que renunció. Queremos un cierre triunfal que honre tanto el legado de los Flynn, los Dillinger como la rica tradición de la saga, respetando su estilo visual, su filosofía, su legado, su ambiente sonoro y obvio su desarrollo de cada personaje sin forzar; porque TRON necesita proyectos convincentes, buen marketing, buena trama, que no sean proyectos mediocres o que los limiten a los involucrados en la producción, permitan a los involucrados hacer lo que quieran siempre y cuando, respeten el canon y la filosofía de TRON; y obvio que no rompan alguna regla o hagan algo indebido.

Además, es fundamental traer de regreso a personajes icónicos como Quorra, Ed Dillinger Jr., TRON, y otros como Beck, Yori, y Dumont (al menos hacer mención de ellos, ya que Yori, RAM, Dumont, Walter Gibbs, y otros personajes más han sido casi olvidados), ofreciendo así una narrativa cohesiva y respetuosa con el canon original. La posibilidad de explorar nuevos spin-offs, desarrollar más juegos, o incluso continuar con una serie derivada, también debería ser considerada para expandir y enriquecer el universo TRON; o de ser posible, continuar la historia que fue presentada en TRON Uprising.

Disney tiene la responsabilidad de escuchar a sus fans, y ahora es el momento perfecto para que Disney muestre su compromiso con la calidad y la innovación que TRON representa si le dan oportunidad sin limites para desatar su máximo potencial.
