Petition Against the British Council Pakistan regarding Cambridge A-Level exam leaks
The Issue
Over the last couple of years a recurring issue has been observed with the Cambridge Exam components that were written in Pakistan Exam Centers. This issue refers to nothing other than exam papers being leaked repeatedly, with leaks primarily originating from Pakistan. In the past a multitude of papers have experienced leaks of varying magnitude. That includes for example the AS Level Mathematics 9209 Paper 12 of May/June 2024 with a full paper leak or the most recent example of the AS Level Mathematics 9209 Paper 12 of May/June 2026. This recurring issue should not only be addressed by Cambridge but also further actions must be taken in order to prevent it from happening in the future;
This petition asks for:
- Isolating the region responsible for these leaks for them to write their own exam paper to prevent potential future leaks having an effect internationally,
- Compensate the students for the emotional strain, inflated exam pressure and financial delays caused by the sudden announcement of a new retake date,
- Significant and meaningful changes to how the exams are handled which will result in limiting future possibility of leaks;
For these repeated incidents no one other than Cambridge is at fault and it is their responsibility above anyone else to ensure this will not happen again in the future.
