Report on today's meeting with the Environment Minister

Report on the meeting with the Environment Minister Hon Dr Steven Miles & 2 officials from the department today;
Our concerns were genuinely received. Unfortunately regazetting any part of South Boundary Rd to allow dog walking was not on the table as an option. The minister’s reason was that if they allowed any exemption or reclassification it would open the floodgates for many more requests. Consideration was given to creating a short new walking trail parallel to South Boundary Road, between it and the mountain bike track to link the two arms of Jones Break West & East ( (ie from the horse step-over to the gate) to complete the circular 5km route people like to walk from Jones, Boscombe or Highwood Rd. However this does not seem a particularly feasible, sensible or environmentally sound option to me and would only address a limited component of our concerns.
Thank you all for your support.
