As a reminder, in addition to the mass exodus and layoffs of teachers and school staff, here are a few recent leadership resignations:
- Patrick Sanchez - Assistant Superintendent Human Resources (Less than 1 year).
- Lisa Lee - Director of Fiscal Services.
- PA Walsh Principal
- Los Paseos Elementary Principal
It’s important to note that the district and the board must present a more stable fiscal plan to the county by December. Without key financial stakeholders and the necessary expertise to navigate the fiscal challenges of the next three years, we are on a path to collapse.
The person who should leave is Dr. Carmen Garcia. Under her leadership, the district has faced a toxic culture, gross financial mismanagement, academic decline, and the marginalization of engaged parents—all while she focuses on advancing her career and building her brand through initiatives like the FACE Center, which could have been more effectively implemented at each school site.
Her tenure has been marked by turbulence and crisis, leaving her previous districts in disarray. It is time for the caring community of Morgan Hill and the families of MHUSD to demand her resignation before she leads us to financial ruin.
