私たちDIR EN GREYのファンは、本請願を通じて、米国を拠点とする企業Cifer Studioに関する状況について、皆様に注意を喚起したいと考えています。Cifer StudioはFWDHKと契約を締結し、2025年11月よりDIR EN GREYとのコラボレーションを開始しました。

Cifer Studioの関与が発表されて以来、このコラボレーションにおける同社の具体的な役割について、ファンの間から懸念や疑問の声が上がっています。しかし現在に至るまで、その役割は十分に明らかにされていません。同社は当初の声明において、自らを「アーティストの権利保護を中心としたAIインフラを構築する米国拠点のテクノロジー企業」と説明していました。

同じ記事では、「同社は従来の『無許可のAI学習』という慣行に反対し、クリエイターが主権を保持できるテクノロジーモデルを提唱している。また、クリエイターの著作権、知的財産、創作物の完全性を保護することを目的としたインフラを開発している」と説明されています。

しかし、それらの目標を具体的にどのような方法で実現しようとしていたのかについては明確に説明されておらず、こうした主張を発信していた同社のソーシャルメディアアカウントも、その後すべて削除されています。

2026年9月現在、Cifer StudioはDIR EN GREYのエコシステム内で、2つの異なるプロダクトを展開しています。ひとつは、ライブイベントやコンサートにおける拡張現実技術およびインタラクティブ体験を提供する「DIR EN GREY AR」、もうひとつは、ファンとの交流やインタラクティブなデジタルサービスを目的とした公式モバイルアプリ「DIR ORACLE」です。

これら2つのプロダクトの性質や目的について、Cifer Studioが当初掲げていた目標や活動内容とどのように結びついているのか、ファンの間で疑問が生じています。

さらに、DIR EN GREY公式サイトの「Rights and Authorization」欄によれば、CiferAI LLC（Cifer Studioの商号）は、プラットフォームの技術的な管理・運営について独占的な権限を付与されています。これには、デジタルエコシステムの設計、開発、ホスティング、保守などが含まれます。

その対象には、オフィシャルファンクラブ ｢a knot｣ の会員向けプラットフォームおよび限定ファンサービスも含まれており、ファンの個人情報その他の情報がどのように収集、取り扱い、保管、保護されているのかについても、懸念が生じています。

以上を踏まえ、私たちDIR EN GREYのファンは、Cifer Studioの関与について正式に懸念を表明します。同社の活動が、DIR EN GREYのイメージ、評判、そして長年にわたって築かれてきたレガシーに悪影響を及ぼす可能性を懸念しています。

・ファンへの対応
公開されたAIコンテンツの創作面について建設的な批判を行ったファン、Cifer Studioの活動について合理的な質問や説明を求めたファンの中には、ブロックされたり、質問を無視されたり、嘲笑されたり、法的措置を取ると脅されたりしたと報告している人がいます。

私たちは、ファンからの正当な質問や懸念に対して、敬意と専門性をもって対応することが必要だと考えています。

・ファンが制作したコンテンツの利用
Cifer Studioは、DIR EN GREYのファンが投稿したX上のポストを、AIによって生成されたプロモーション動画を含む宣伝素材に使用しました。

ファンが自身の投稿を使用されたことに異議を唱えた後、当初の動画は削除され、別の動画に差し替えられました。その後、Cifer Studioは、X.com上で公開されたコンテンツを生成AIモデルの学習または改善のために使用できるとの趣旨を表明しました。

このことは、ファンが作成したコンテンツの利用における同意のあり方や、ファンの創作物に対する尊重について、さらなる懸念を生じさせています。

・｢a knot｣ファンクラブへのアクセス
DIR EN GREY公式サイトによれば、CiferAI LLCには、オフィシャルファンクラブ「｢a knot｣」のデジタルエコシステムおよびファンサービスを管理・運営するための独占的な権限が付与されています。

これにより、Cifer Studioがファンのどのような個人情報にアクセスできるのか、また、そのようなアクセスがなぜ必要なのかについて、重大な疑問が生じています。

・DIR EN GREY AR
DIR EN GREY ARプロジェクトでは、戦争を想起させる暴力的な描写の中で、メンバーが戦車に撃たれたり、爆撃を受けたり、手足を失ったりする場面が描かれています。

ファンからは、このコンセプトの意図や創作上の理由、そしてバンドの芸術的なアイデンティティとどのように結びついているのかについて疑問の声が上がっています。

また、公開されたAIコンテンツ全体のクオリティについても疑問視されています。

私たちが求めること

以上の懸念を踏まえ、私たちはFWDHKおよびDIR EN GREYに関係する各関係者に対し、以下を求めます。

・Cifer Studioとの契約を終了すること、または同社との今後のさらなる協業・関係拡大を行わないこと。

・Cifer Studioの具体的な役割、｢a knot｣会員のデータへのアクセス権限、ならびにファンが作成したコンテンツの収集および利用について、透明性のある説明を行うこと。

・正当な懸念を表明した際に無視、嘲笑、または不適切な対応を受けたファンに対し、Cifer Studioから正式な謝罪を行うことを求めること。

また、私たちはDIR EN GREYの創作活動およびファンとの交流において、AIの利用が拡大していくことにも反対します。

私たちは、DIR EN GREYの芸術とファンとの関係は、AIによって生成されたコンテンツやAI主導のテクノロジーではなく、人間による創造性と、真摯な交流を中心としたものであり続けるべきだと考えています。

DIR EN GREYは、長年にわたってファンとの関係を築いてきました。私たちは、その関係の中に新たに導入されるいかなる要素も、DIR EN GREY、その芸術的なレガシー、そして何十年にもわたってバンドを心から支えてきたファンを尊重するものであるべきだと考えています。

With this petition we, the fans of DIR EN GREY, would like to draw attention to the situation regarding the US-based company Cifer Studio, which has signed a contract with FWDHK and entered into a collaboration with DIR EN GREY in November of 2025.

Since Cifer Studio’s involvement was announced, concerns have been raised among fans regarding the company’s exact role in this collaboration. To this day that role has not been made entirely clear. In the company's initial statements it has described itself as "a US-based tech company building Al infrastructure centered on the protection of artists' rights." 

In the same article it has been stated that "The company opposes the conventional practice of "unauthorized Al training" and advocates for a technology model where creators retain sovereignty; they are developing infrastructure aimed at protecting creators' copyrights, intellectual property, and the integrity of their creative work". However, the exact methods by which it intended to achieve these goals were not clearly explained and all social media accounts responsible for such claims have since been deleted.

As of September 2026, Cifer Studio has produced two distinct products within the DIR EN GREY ecosystem: DIR EN GREY AR – an augmented reality technology and interactive experiences for live events and concerts and DIR ORACLE – an official mobile application designed for fan engagement and interactive digital services.

The nature and purpose of both products have raised questions among fans regarding their connection to the company's initial claims about their goals and activities. 

Furthermore, according to the Rights and Authorization section of the official DIR EN GREY website, CiferAI LLC, doing business as Cifer Studio, has been granted exclusive operational authorization to technically manage and operate the platform, including, but not limited to, designing, developing, hosting, and maintaining its digital ecosystem. This includes the Official Fan Club: ｢a knot｣ membership platform and exclusive fan services, which has also raised concerns regarding the collection, handling, storage and protection of fans' personal data and other information. 

Therefore, we, as fans of DIR EN GREY would like to formally voice our concerns regarding Cifer Studio's involvement. We are concerned that the aforementioned company's activities may have a negative impact on the band's image, reputation and legacy.

Points of concern:

• Treatment of fans
Fans who have provided constructive criticism regarding the creative nature of the published AI content, asked reasonable questions or requested clarification about Cifer Studio’s activities, in some cases reported, have been blocked, dismissed, mocked and threatened with legal action. We believe fans deserve respectful and professional communication.

• Use of fan-generated content
Cifer Studio has used tweets from DIR EN GREY fans in its promotional materials, including an AI-generated promotional video. After fans objected to the use of their posts, the original video was removed and replaced. Cifer Studio subsequently stated that publicly posted content on X.com could be used to train or improve generative AI models, raising concerns about consent and respect for fans’ content.

• Access to the ｢a knot｣ fan club
According to the DIR EN GREY official website CiferAI LLC has been granted exclusive operational authorization to manage the digital ecosystem of the official fan club ｢a knot｣ and its fan services. This raises serious questions about what personal information Cifer Studio can access and why such access is necessary.

• DIR EN GREY AR
The DIR EN GREY AR project shows the band members being shot by tanks, bombed, and losing limbs in scenes depicting war-like violence. Fans have questioned the purpose and creative reasoning behind this concept and how it relates to the band’s artistic identity. The overall quality of the published AI content has also been questioned. 

What We Are Asking For

In light of these concerns, we respectfully request that FWDHK and the relevant parties representing DIR EN GREY to:

• Terminate the contract with Cifer Studio, or refrain from pursuing or expanding further collaboration with the company;

• Provide transparency regarding Cifer Studio’s role, access to ｢a knot｣ members’ data, and the collection and use of fan-generated content;

• Request an official apology from Cifer Studio to fans who were dismissed, mocked, or treated disrespectfully when raising legitimate concerns.

We also oppose the increasing use of AI within DIR EN GREY’s creative work and fan experience. We believe the band’s art and its relationship with its fans should remain rooted in human creativity and genuine interaction, rather than AI-generated content and AI-driven technologies.

DIR EN GREY has built a longstanding relationship with its audience, and we believe that any new aspect introduced into that relationship should respect the band, its artistic legacy, and the people who have wholeheartedly supported it for decades.
