3. Avaliem o impacto da permanência das três embarcações sobre a atividade dos pescadores locais e sobre o acesso da comunidade à baía;

Subject: Request for intervention and for an alternative location for the anchoring of three sailboats in Angrinha, Ribeira da Barca

We, the undersigned, Cape Verdean citizens, residents, fishermen, natives and friends of Ribeira da Barca, respectfully request the intervention of the competent authorities regarding the prolonged presence of three sailboats in the Angrinha area of Ribeira da Barca, Santiago Island.

Angrinha is an area of great importance to the local community and, particularly, to the fishermen who use the bay and its surrounding areas to carry out their activities and provide a livelihood for their families.

The prolonged presence of the three vessels has caused concern among members of the community, particularly regarding access to the area and possible limitations or constraints on fishing activities.

This petition is not against foreign citizens, tourists, or sailors. We recognize and respect the right of visitors to use the territory and maritime space of Cabo Verde in accordance with the rules established by the competent authorities.

Our request is for transparency, balance in the use of maritime space, and protection of fishing activities and the legitimate interests of the local community.

THEREFORE, WE REQUEST THAT THE COMPETENT AUTHORITIES:
Verify and publicly clarify the legal status of the three vessels, including any authorizations that permit their continued presence in Angrinha;
Inform the community which entity granted such authorizations, if applicable, as well as their duration, the conditions established, and the applicable limits;
Assess the impact of the presence of the three vessels on the activities of local fishermen and on the community's access to the bay;
If legally and technically possible, identify a suitable alternative location for the anchoring or continued presence of the three vessels, in order to reduce any constraints affecting the fishing community;
Ensure that fishermen in Ribeira da Barca can continue to use the areas traditionally designated for their activities, without unjustified obstacles or restrictions;
Ensure that any prolonged use of maritime space complies with Cape Verdean legislation, maritime safety regulations, and the protection of the interests of coastal communities.
OUR REQUEST IS FOR A PEACEFUL SOLUTION
We do not want conflict.

We do not want confrontation.

We are not against foreigners.

We are not against tourism or navigation.

We simply want there to be a balance between visitors and the local community.

If there is another suitable and safe location where the three sailboats can remain, we believe that this possibility should be considered by the competent authorities, particularly if their current presence is creating constraints for fishermen's activities.

We ask the Government of Cabo Verde and the maritime authorities to address this matter with transparency, impartiality, and respect for the community of Ribeira da Barca.

Angrinha should remain a place where the local community can safely and with dignity carry out its traditional activities, including fishing.

THEREFORE, WE ASK:
That the competent authorities intervene, assess the situation, and seek a solution that would allow, if legally and technically possible, the three sailboats to be moved to an alternative anchorage location, without harming fishermen or the local community.

We also ask that the results of this assessment be publicly communicated to the population.

SIGN THIS PETITION
By signing this petition, I express my support for a request for transparency, protection of fishing activities, and the pursuit of a balanced solution to the situation involving the three sailboats in Angrinha, Ribeira da Barca.
