Querido amigos de Campus Tlalpan:

Ha sido abrumador el apoyo y la pasión que se ha expresado en defensa de nuestro Campus. Lamentablemente, los Colegios Peterson han dejado muy claro que tienen la intención de cerrar Tlalpan al final de este año académico con todas las apelaciones de último minuto analizadas y rechazadas.

Si bien la institución está haciendo todo lo posible para reubicarnos a todos, varios de nosotros creemos que podemos encontrar una opción alternativa. En consecuencia, estamos explorando la posibilidad de formar nuestra propia organización con padres y maestros para dirigir la escuela nosotros mismos. Esto será todo un desafío pero estamos 100% comprometidos a apoyar su apelación.

Tenemos mucho que hacer si queremos salvar nuestro Campus. Tendremos que pensar creativamente y actuar de manera responsable, tendremos que ser flexibles y adaptables y mantener una mente abierta a las diferentes opciones y alternativas. Sobre todo, debemos recordar que una escuela es mucho más que un nombre y simples ladrillos, una escuela se construye a partir de la pasión y el compromiso de sus miembros.

Han demostrado claramente que tienen pasión, ahora se trata de una cuestión de compromiso. De la adversidad surge la oportunidad, la oportunidad de hacer algo realmente sorprendente. Ahora es nuestro momento y nuestra oportunidad, veamos qué podemos lograr, al menos estar firmes y decir que lo intentamos.

Dear friends of Tlalpan Campus,

We have been overwhelmed by the support and passion that has been expressed in defense of our campus. Unfortunately Peterson Schools have made it very clear that they intend to close Tlalpan at the end of this academic year with all last minute appeals for us to remain as a Peterson School having been analysed and rejected.

Whilst the institution is doing what it can to relocate us all, several of us believe we may be able to find an alternative option. Consequently we are exploring the possibility of forming our own parent-teacher association in order to run the school ourselves. This will be quite a challenge but we are 100% committed to supporting your appeal.

We have a lot to do if we are to save our campus. We will need to think creatively and act responsibly, we will need to be flexible and adaptable and keep an open mind to different options and alternatives. Above all we need to remember that a school is much more than simply a name or bricks and mortar, a school is constructed out of the passion and commitment of its members.

You have clearly demonstrated that you have the passion, now it comes down to a question of commitment. Out of adversity comes opportunity, the opportunity to do something truly amazing. Now is our time and our opportunity, let’s see what we can achieve, if nothing else we can at least stand tall and say we tried.
