I guess you can remember how Mayo County council put a clause in the county plan 2022/28 which blocks them even considering a greenway on the closed railway.  Despite the fact there are no plans to re-open the line from claremorris to Collooney.

The clause in the county plan was called MT09.  Two of its main supporters were Neil Cruise and Gerry Murray.  We cannot understand Neil Cruise but Gerry Murray of SF was just following party orders, apparently there is a misconception in SF that this railway line is going to open in the foreseeable future, it isn't.  But lets not get into all that now, John Sheahan will have to follow party orders too he will be told stop the greenway

The good news is that FG have two candidates in the Swinford ED.  A young lady called Antoinette Peyton is 100% committed to the greenway, and Adrian Forkan of FF is the same.   Local elections are less about parties and more about local issues and boy is this a local issue.  So on Friday if you still support the greenway and have a vote in the Swinford Electoral District please think, do you really want more of the same shenanigans?

Lets them know this time enough is enough.
