Another win for our Biloela family!

Yesterday, the full Federal Court upheld its decision that little QLD-born Tharnicaa was denied “procedural fairness”. But no court can tell our politicians to use their special powers to bring this beautiful family home to Biloela.

Today, can you please e-mail new Immigration Minister Alex Hawke in your own, polite words?

Our politicians have always had the power to bring this family home, separate to the decision of any court.

This week, I was shocked to learn that days after Scott Morrison was re-elected as Prime Minister in May 2019, his former Minister ignored a recommendation from his own Department to consider granting visas to allow Priya, Nades and their QLD-borns to remain in Australia.

It is heartbreaking to think of all the suffering that could have been avoided if the Prime Minister and former Minister had simply listened to the advice of immigration officials.

Now, the power to bring them home to Bilo has been passed to Alex Hawke, whose family came to Australia seeking freedom and safety, just like Priya and Nades.

That's why I urgently need you to tell Minister Hawke why he should bring this family home to Biloela, where they belong.

After yesterday’s legal win, Priya said: “We are very thankful all to the wonderful people in Australia who support us. We didn’t get much sleep last night, but tried to stay positive and hope that the Minister will let us go back to Bilo. I want my daughters to grow up in peace and safety.”

She was terrified that without the court’s protection, her family would be dragged onto a plane and forced from Australia to danger. Last night, friends on Christmas Island told me that before the court's decision, there was an unmarked plane waiting.

In 17 days, it will be exactly three years since officials snatched Priya, Nades and their QLD-born girls from their Biloela home.

I pray that Mr Morrison and Mr Hawke will listen to the hundreds of thousands of Australians who have signed this petition and step in before this cruel milestone passes under their watch.
