HELP NS Veterinary Clinics Stay Open‼️

To prevent veterinary care from being suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak, the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association (NSVMA) recently sent a formal letter to the NS Government requesting that veterinary medicine be classified as an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as of today, March 26th, the NSVMA has not received a response!! Please sign the Petition to let Premier Stephen MacNeil & the NS Government know that animals are not collateral damage! Pets are beloved family members who deserve proper care & to have their medical needs addressed. To leave pet parents without proper and timely veterinary care is nothing short of cruelty! Beloved pets may suffer or die if treatment is not available.

It is also important for our NS Government to know that the World Health Organization advises that there is no evidence to suggest that dogs or cats can be infected with the new coronavirus. The World Organization for Animal Health supports this, stating that there is no evidence that dogs play a role in the spread of this disease or that they become sick. The CDC seconds these observations, noting that, “At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals, including pets can spread COVID-19."

PLEASE SIGN this PETITION to help NSMVA obtain the ESSENTIAL SERVICE designation our NS Veterinary Hospitals need to STAY OPEN and keep our pets safe & well throughout this Covid-19 crisis!

Thank you!
