Permit Dogs to Accompany Owners at Grosvenor Park Allotments Site

Permit Dogs to Accompany Owners at Grosvenor Park Allotments Site
The Issue
Like many of you, I am a dog owner and an allotment holder. I am also among the numerous holders who are struggling with the current restrictions placed on dogs at Grosvenor Park Allotments Site in Attleborough. Our furry companions are a significant part of our lives, and the inability to bring them to the allotment site hinders our ability to put in the requisite time and care. I sincerely believe that this policy needs to change.
There does not seem to be any strong evidence suggesting that allowing dogs on allotment sites poses any significant risk to other plots or the public, given appropriate rules and regulations. On the contrary, various studies have demonstrated the numerous benefits of spending time outdoors with our dogs, including improved physical health and wellbeing, as well as strengthening the bond between us and our dogs (RSPCA, 2019).
More than that, let's consider our broader community. Allowing dogs on-site means more plot holders can spend time tending to their allotments, promoting a more vibrant and engaged gardening community. We all appreciate the joy, unity, and tranquility that come from sharing our growing spaces with others. Our dogs should have a place in this picture.
For the reasons mentioned, I am calling for a revision of the 'no dogs' policy at the Grosvenor Park Allotments Site. Let's pave the way for our dogs to accompany us, encouraging an inclusive atmosphere and enhancing the sense of community. Sign this petition and help our faithful companions be a part of our cherished gardening time.
