Council for Intellectual Disability

15 nov. 2017
We are holding a very important Parliamentary Forum this morning at NSW Parliament House. We have over 40 Members of Parliament attending and many people with disability. We will be live streaming the event from 9.45 to 11am so we hope you will join us online through Facebook.
The live streaming will be through the Stand By Me Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StandByMeNSW/.
Speakers at the forum include Council for Intellectual Disability (CID) member, Leigh Creighton, Leader of the Opposition, Luke Foley, Hon. Jody Carr, MLA Member of the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick, Canada, five-time Paralympian, Ms Angela Ballard with Carly Findlay – writer, speaker and disability activist as MC. The Forum is being hosted by Liberal MP, Hon. Gareth Ward and Labor MP, Liesl Tesch.
The forum has been organised by the NSW Disability Advocacy Alliance which is campaigning for the restoration of disability advocacy funding in NSW. Council for Intellectual Disability is a member of the Alliance.
We also want to thank you for helping us get to 5,000 petition signatures. Please share our petition with your friends, family and colleagues and help us get to 10,000!
Don’t let people with intellectual disability be silenced. We have a right to be heard.
Thank you for supporting this important campaign.
Fiona and the CID Advocacy Team.
