We want to see the Duplin County Animal Shelter:

-become more transparent with the community, volunteers, and rescues

-be accountable for transparent, accurate, and updated communication. 

-be required to communicate capacity, medical cases, temperament & personality of animals there. 

-be accountable in fostering relationships with the community and rescues.

-have staff who are available and communicative to the public and rescues.

-have a volunteer policy promoting animal advocacy

-educate the community

Animals are dying at the shelter due to ineffective communication issues at the shelter and new policies that allow the employees to pick and choose who has access to the animals. The employees use bullying tactics to quiet animal lovers and rescues by banning anyone who speaks negatively about the shelter - even if it’s truthful information. ALL Duplin County taxpayers and animals owners are stakeholders! The success of the new animal shelter is dependent on changes within the shelter. NOW is the time to act because the animals can’t speak for themselves.
