Abolish Direct Provision Ireland
Sep 9, 2020

Our Comrade Arif from Afghanistan is the second asylum seeker to died in direct provision in less than 5 months. He was placed in a dark, small and cold room during isolation at Tracey's Hotel, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan a few weeks ago. This raised some traumatic experience of his sojourn to Ireland. Few of the residents at the centre saw him walking around the centre at 4am the morning before his death. Arif had email IPAS to leave the centre many times. We are asking Minister Helen Mc Entee and Roderic O'Gorman TD to investigate this matter and cancel the contract of Trenthall Ltd for human rights abuse since 2018. Justice for Arif.

Please visit our website www.directprovision.org for a template email you can send to your TDs to help with Justice for Arif and hundreds of asylum seekers that died in direct provision since 1999.

We will have an online conference on 27th September 2020 for asylum seekers to share their struggles of living in direct provision and discussing the alternatives to this brutal system of direct provision. Here is a link you can register to join us.
