Over a year has passed since the protests to remove the blue mess from Henderson. Our streets are not looking vibrant, it’s looking tired. Weeds are flourishing in the concrete planters, temporary measures remain, unsafe potholes, markings, poor accessibility are clearly evident. Business have suffered and even closed.

I would like to use this platform to encourage each of you to vote in the local elections. Remember those councillors and board members who voted for the trial then lied to us about its removal. They continue to advocate for reduced use of cars, more painted streets and ridiculous speed bumps everywhere in an effort to grind all traffic to a halt. They believe they can spend our rates on their vanity projects.

It’s time to vote out those people and vote in hard working and independent members who want what we want for our area. Vote for vocal candidates who are committed to local issues. I can name a few that get my tick.
