• For starters ”pitbull” isn’t a breed. It’s a nickname from dog fighting “the pit in the bullring” the correct name for the breed is Staffordshire Terrier. 
•  I know peta has done “good” things for the breed in the past but not anymore.

Reasons to sign, 

700 Cities have active pitbull bans already we don’t need any more.

Over 25 cities have active mandatory sterilization. Or subsidized (Which means, for example let’s say you are driving through Denver, CO or Los Angeles enjoying the view with your pitbull, next thing you know you get pulled over. No biggie right? Just you and your pup? 

No. Mandatory sterilization means that if you are caught with a dog that hasn’t been spayed/neutered you are given 30-60 days (depending on what city) to get the dog sterilizated or you could get fined anywhere from $300-$500 subsidized sterilization just basically gives you more time before legal actions are involved.

That also means that certain legislators, given the state/city can STILL STERILIZE dogs before physical maturity and anyone with common sense knows that’s harmful on growth, Heath, TEMPERMENT, increase risk of certain cancers and many other things. 

(I still think dogs should be spayed/neutered, I was just listing laws that already exist) 

PETA just joined forces with an anti pitbull correlation to work on the complete ban of the breed. 

HOW MANY MORE LAWS AGAINST THE BREED DO WE NEED!? None!!! We need laws that positively effect the dog and negativitly effect bad owners.

Do police dogs get sent to rescues to get sent to An AVERAGE FAMILY after they retire? NO!!! 

(Talked about police dogs because ALL DOGS CAN BE RETRAINED) not because I think police dogs are aggressive

We should work laws FOR BETTER REHABILITATION for rescued DOG FIGHTING PITS instead of just sending them off without reassuring their public safety. Which will then REASSURE safety for the dogs and for people! 

They can be retrained, they can be retaught with time and patience just like a police dog after it retires if its officer doesn’t take him or her home. 

Dogs only know what they are taught. Your average household German shepherd isn’t going to bite when given a police command it’s never heard before.

By signing this my hopes is that it can open some people’s eyes on the horrible things the PEOPLE FOR ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS wants to do with the staffordshire terrier breed, meanwhile all of the current laws against them already exist. PETA wants to create more. 

Positive laws instead of banning the breed.

• More reinforcements on current laws against dog fighting 
• Law for requirements and permits ONLY to breed ANY dog.
• Restrictions for adoption of rehabilitated pitbulls
• Let’s fix current laws instead of creating life threatening ones to innocent dogs!
• Dog breeding needs serious legal control, stop breeders not the dog. 

PITBULLS HAVE RIGHTS TOO. 

You can’t eliminate a group of people legally just because you don’t like them. It shouldn’t be legal to do that to any breed of dog. 

Humans beat me, over bread me, cut my eats & tail off and you want laws against pitbulls instead of enforcing more laws on humans?
