Start no kill policy in all Animal shelters.

The Issue

In South Los Angeles, tons of animals roam the streets. Most often there are dogs, cats young and old. They're starved, bruised, neglected, and forgotten about. They face the horrors of having to scavenge for food, find shelter, and stay safe from other animals and humans. For the few that do make it off of the street, they face a whole other challenge in a place that is supposed to help them.

In south LA, the amount of kill shelters is much higher due to how many and how frequently new animals are brought in. Hundreds of innocent and helpless cats and dogs get put down. On top of this, many adoption centers don't have the means to provide for sick animals nor do sick animals get adopted into safe homes as often.  Other parts of the city have done a good job in eliminating kill shelters and the unnecessary killing of animals due to lack of space or equipment.

Overall, if funds could be raised either go to already exiting shelters and better equip them to handle these animals, or if new shelters could be put in place, then we could drastically help. Not only would the animals be better off, but so would humans too. Some may find forever homes and owners will find a best friend as an animal. It would make the streets safer and innocent lives would be saved.
