***PEKIN POLICE MAKE ARREST IN HOARDERS INCIDENT*** Pekin Detectives arrested Cora F Belk “Peggy” (75), who appeared on an episode of Hoarders on January 31, 2016. Viewers of that show sent correspondence to the Police Department, which is how we became aware of the issue of several deceased animals that were found in cages in the home. On February 1, 2016, Pekin Police were notified of the situation, and the Chief of Police ordered an investigation into the allegations. Cora Belk was arrested for cruel treatment of an animal. (ILCS 510 70/3.01) “The issue of Hoarding is not a Police issue, however if that causes danger, abuse, or death to an animal or other person, we will get involved, and we take that very seriously” said Public information Officer Mike Eeten.
