I would like to bring a petition forward to what I consider a huge gap in safe crossings on old shoreham road in a particular area. Between the upper drive and BAHSVIC there is no safe crossing to Dyke Road Park and BAHSVIC playing fields. The entrance to Dyke road park opposite Silverdale road is where I propose a pedestrian crossing is needed. Not only for the sake of a safe crossing over a major road to the entrance to a park, which seems quite obvious, but because the entrance to the park also serves as a back entrance route to both Cardinal Newman school, BAHSVIC, Windlesham and also the pedestrian route to the junior and infant schools of Stanford Juniors/infants.  

A couple of years ago a motor cyclist was hit by a car in this very spot and an air ambulance had to be instructed to take the casualty to hospital. With so many young families and unaccompanied children and teenagers using this route as a thoroughfare to their schools, playground and park the pedestrian crossing I am lobbying for is a resounding necessity.
