Hello Everyone! Thank you for your support and for helping us reach over 5,000 signatures. The media continues to write about Kellie's suspension and the whistle blower complaint she filed with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. Here's an excerpt from today's article in the Guardian: "Ted Poe, one of the congressmen who worked on the Kate Puzey Act, said that Greene might have been suspended because she was asking difficult questions. He pointed out that “part of the law was to have someone exactly like Kellie Greene working in the Peace Corps to make sure that America takes care of its volunteers when they are assaulted”. You can read the entire article here: http://bit.ly/1PImWtF. Please continue to share this petition with your social networks. Although the Peace Corps is hiring a new director for the Office of Victim Advocacy, Kellie is still a strong advocate for the rights of Peace Corps Volunteers who have been victimized. We need someone who is willing to push the agency as well as further protection against retaliation for the office. The volunteer must always be put before the needs and image of the Peace Corps. I believe in the mission of the Peace Corps and that is why I hope we can push the agency to go further in its reforms and be the leader in sexual assault response I know they can be. Your signature on this petition and your comments will help amplify the important message that every Peace Corps Volunteer has the resources necessary to serve safely and to begin a healthy healing process should they be victimized during service. Together we can make #PeaceCorpsStrong again! #JusticeForPCVolunteers. I would also like to share with you other stories and recent coverage of Peace Corps sexual assault and health care response that I think ought to be shared. http://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2016/mar/31/i-was-raped-and-my-counsellor-asked-me-what-i-had-been-wearing?CMP=share_btn_fb http://www.texasgopvote.com/government/we-must-protect-our-angels-abroad-008651
