UPDATE: As a refresher, the real estate speculator is planning to build 8 condo units right on tiny Kellogg Beach, dwarfing the neighboring homes. We still have time to voice our concerns and influence the outcome.
The recently submitted plans for the proposed half-block, 30’ high Bayfront Condominiums include:
• A massive 135’ façade along San Antonio Ave. all 30'+ high
• One high-rise building 30’+ to replace one-low rise single family home
• Street side setbacks of 5' and no setback from street in some areas
• 8 units redefined from two bedrooms to one bedroom and den, therefore reducing the number of required parking spaces
• Subterranean parking with car elevators, car lifts and a car turntable
• No guest parking spaces
• First floor balconies that encroach into public beach space
If this project goes through it will:
• Cause increased beach erosion
• Threaten the delicate environment of this beach
• Create increased traffic and parking issues for the area
• Block public view corridors that have existed for decades for the enjoyment of all who visit or live in the area
• Forever negatively change the look and character of Kellogg Beach
