We may not have received access to the most recent steel...but our voices have been heard!

City Council is now considering a public design competition to use leftover steel from the rail span (taken down in 2012) in a commemorative art piece. This is an incredible opportunity to memorialize a piece of our city’s history in a creative way,” said Coun. All of you that signed the petition, shared your blue bridge memories, photos, art, and all of those that attended the Victoria Design Nerds very first Nerd Jam: Upcycled Urbanism. From this jam session, we’d like to share the key questions+outcomes that emerged: *How might we tell the many stories of the blue bridge while making people smile? *How might we celebrate our memories of the blue bridge while embracing Victoria's evolving identity? *How might we celebrate history without dishonoring local community? We look forward to what lies ahead!
