On May 15th, the Vancouver Parks Board will finalize the wording of a Cetacean Bylaw to ban cetaceans at the Vancouver Aquarium.
They must implement a bylaw that will truly end the captivity of cetaceans at the Vancouver Aquarium. The Vancouver Aquarium said that they want to continue to “rescue” from all “Canadian shores”. If allowed that could lead to many more captive cetaceans. There cannot be any exemptions for rescue, research, and captive born.
Permitting any imprisonment of cetaceans for any reason is unnecessary and would perpetuate captivity.
