Pay Essential Workers What They’re Worth — Not Celebrities, CEOs, and Corporations
The Issue
Our economy rewards profit, not survival, and that has to change.
Society needs to stop idolizing consumption and fame, and start respecting real contribution.
When the system rewards exploitation, people exploit. Let’s flip the script and start paying the people who actually matter.
Essential workers (nurses, firefighters, teachers, farmers, and more) hold society together. Yet many can’t even afford basic needs. Meanwhile, billionaires, celebrities, and corporations amass obscene wealth for work that, if it disappeared tomorrow, wouldn’t collapse civilization.
This isn’t just unfair, it’s backwards. And it’s costing lives.
We call for a system that values human need over profit margins, and survival over stock prices. Join this movement calling for a balanced, compassionate economic system, one that genuinely serves its people.
We, the people, demand:
- A living wage for all essential workers, tied to real local costs.
Governments must treat essential work as the backbone of society and pay it accordingly. - Basic human needs guaranteed: healthcare, housing, education, and childcare in order to ease the survival burden on working people.
- Tax reform that finally holds the ultra-rich and corporations accountable.
Close loopholes, end offshore havens, and stop subsidizing billionaires. - Labor protections and union support across all industries.
Promote worker-owned cooperatives that return control and profits to the people doing the work. - Publicly funded elections to remove corporate money OUT of politics.
Investment in worker owned businesses and community based wealth building.
This isn’t a partisan issue. It’s common sense. But without structural change, common sense gets steamrolled by lobbyists, profit motives, and status games. Their lack of empathy should not be rewarded.
We’ve seen enough billionaires fly to space while EMTs work two jobs to survive. It’s time to build an economy that values life, not just profit.
