Dear Councillor Colle,
As a long-time resident and constituent in your ward, I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding your silence and inaction on the proposed shelter development at 2204–2212 Eglinton Avenue West and 601 Caledonia Road.
This proposal is not only inconsistent with the City’s own planning policies, but it threatens the fabric, safety, and long-term growth of our community. Many of us feel abandoned by your office at a time when we needed leadership, advocacy, and transparency.
You were elected to represent the people of this neighborhood. Yet, despite numerous letters, petitions, and community outreach efforts, your office has offered no meaningful response or support to residents and business owners directly impacted by this plan.
I want to be very clear: this issue is mobilizing people. I am prepared to go door-to-door and speak with every neighbor to ensure that residents fully understand what’s happening—and how their councillor has failed to stand up for them.
This is not personal—it is political. Your vote this week at City Council is your opportunity to demonstrate that you still represent the interests of your constituents. If you choose to support this shelter proposal, I—and many others—will work tirelessly to ensure your record is held accountable in the next municipal election.
