The Issue

Rosebud's story touches the hearts of many, showing the power of second chances. She is currently at risk of euthanasia, scheduled for April 17th, a decision we believe is being made prematurely and without the thorough assessment she deserves. Based on staff experience, observed behavior, and similar past cases, we are deeply concerned that Rosebud has not received a fully implemented, structured behavioral assessment and rehabilitation plan. Such action would be inconsistent with the organization’s accepted rescue practices and its proven ability to rehabilitate dogs with similar or even greater behavioral challenges.

Every animal deserves the right to a fair assessment, and Rosebud is no exception. The expertise exists within the organization and through independent professionals to properly evaluate her behavioral and medical data, ensuring each avenue for rehabilitation is explored. An immediate pause is necessary to allow for an independent behavioral review and full reassessment by qualified and impartial professionals. Without this, we risk facing an irreversible decision based solely on incomplete and potentially inaccurate information.

This petition is not just about saving Rosebud, but about holding ourselves to the highest standards of animal welfare. We urge the Board to act with both compassion and due diligence, exemplifying the responsible rescue practices that have given hope to so many animals in the past.

Join us in standing for Rosebud and advocating for her right to a comprehensive and fair evaluation. Sign this petition to demand a thorough review and ensure Rosebud gets the second chance she deserves for a happier, healthier life.
