🌳 Royal Victoria Park – Thank You for Standing Together!

Firstly, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us in Royal Victoria Park on Sunday! ❤️

What a fantastic turnout! It was wonderful to see so many people coming together, giving up their Sunday morning and showing just how much this beautiful, historic park means to our community.

Whether you came with friends, family, your dog or simply to make your voice heard, we are incredibly grateful.

Your community has spoken, and your concerns deserve to be heard.

We're continuing to challenge the proposed changes to Royal Victoria Park and are still seeking clear answers from Bath & North East Somerset Council on several important legal issues, including:

Planning permission
The park's protected status
The legal powers being used to undertake the works
Environmental and wildlife impacts
The Council's decision-making and consultation processes
The cycle lane Traffic Regulation Order has been revoked, but significant questions remain unanswered.

⚖️ We are now seeking a Judicial Review.

Despite repeatedly raising serious questions about the legality of the scheme, we believe the Council has failed to provide substantive answers to many of them.

With works continuing, we are now taking steps towards seeking a Judicial Review of the Council's decisions and the legal basis for the scheme.

This isn't a step we take lightly, but we believe the Council must be able to demonstrate that it has acted lawfully, followed the correct procedures and properly considered its responsibilities towards this historic public park.

Our position remains simple:

PAUSE THE WORKS. PROVIDE THE EVIDENCE. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY.

We are not against cycling or sensible improvements. We want decisions that are lawful, proportionate, environmentally responsible and properly considered.
