Concrete and Asphalt Batch Plant Near Us

Concrete and Asphalt Batch Plant Near Us
The Issue
A concrete and asphalt plant located near Northwest Highway and Garland Road poses the threat of dust, fumes, noise, and expanded truck traffic near our residential neighborhoods in Northeast Dallas. People who have health problems may be affected more severely by the dust and fumes. People who don't have health problems may develop them.
When we've read what other communities have experienced it is saddening. In Frisco, McKinney, and Houston batch plants have proved to be a mess near neighborhoods and the process for getting cities to properly enforce regulations has been long, bureaucratic, legalistic, political, and frustrating.
We respectfully request that the City Council of Dallas not approve the permit for this plant (Agenda item 20-1016) due to the likelihood that it will blight our nearby neighborhoods, make the Samuel-Garland Park unhealthy, and reduce property values in nearby neighborhoods.
