MEETING WITH NICK BOLES MP 15th March

Firstly, I  should make it clear that I don’t think my meeting with Mr Boles caused his resignation from the local Conservative Party this morning ���

PARKINGEYE/ULHT - Update on meeting with Nick Boles 15th March.

As I didn’t have the luxury of the 2 hours + I had with ULHT Facilities at this meeting with Nick Boles, I kept to 4 main points in my presentation:

1) PCNs being issued in error, mainly to BB holders, people dropping off/collecting & staff. Gave examples of these & the general distress caused by the system.

2) Suggested a new concession was introduced for over-running clinics. Supplied examples from other trusts.

3) Suggested new charging bands were introduced starting at 0-2 hours. Also that the daily parking rate of £5 should cover 24 hours NOT just up to midnight on the day of parking. Provided an example of how I thought the rebanding might be applied.

4) Raised the issue of Care Homes running minibuses to Outpatients not being allowed to stay parked outside OP with out receiving a PCN. Suggested a registration system. Included a copy of the example provided by Iain Leggett.

I asked that he used his influence to put pressure on the relevant authorities to get these issues addressed ASAP. I also suggested he got together with other local MPs (Matt Warman, Karen Lee & Caroline Johnson) to increase the pressure on ULHT/ParkingEye. He agreed to get in touch with his parliamentary colleagues next week with a view to taking this forward.

I will be meeting with ULHT Facilities again next month, when I’ll have the opportunity to bring up these and ALL the other issues that have been brought to my attention.
