SB 614, a bill to remove the RICA, is ready to move into the Assembly Education Committee, and your legislators need to hear from you. Here are four ways that you can take action to ensure that this bill is on the committee's agenda when the assembly reconvenes on July 27. Thank you for your support!
1. Submit a support letter for SB 614 (sample in this toolkit http://bit.ly/yesonsb614) to the Assembly Education Committee at the online portal
2. Tweet your support of SB 614 to members of the Assembly Education Committee. Here is one example, others available in this toolkit http://bit.ly/yesonsb614.
Vote YES on #SB614! CA suffers from a teacher shortage. RICA’s dismal first-time pass rates prevent new teachers from entering the classroom. Our students deserve better! @AsmPatODonnell @KevinKileyCA @Ash_Kalra @AsmKevinMcCarty @AsmChristySmith @AsmShirleyWeber @AsmMeganDahle
3. Make a phone call to your local assembly person and tell them that your support SB 614.
4. Show your gratitude to the bill's sponsor, Senator Susan Rubio. It takes staff, resources and determination to get a bill this far. Kudos to the senator for supporting teachers and students!

Thank you @SenSusanRubio for sponsoring #SB614! RICA is outdated, ineffective and is a barrier to instruction for teachers of color #SupportDiverseTeachers
