Pass Victoria’s Act: Hold Fentanyl Dealers Accountable

Pass Victoria’s Act: Hold Fentanyl Dealers Accountable
The Issue
My name is Nicole. On March 27, 2025, my mother, Victoria, died after ingesting fentanyl that was illegally distributed. My mother did not die from an accident. She was poisoned by a drug that the seller knew could kill. Her death is being investigated as Death by Distribution a crime that recognizes fentanyl dealers can be held criminally responsible when their drugs cause death. But while dealers may face prison time, families like mine are left with funeral costs, medical bills, lost income, and lifelong trauma with no automatic restitution, no compensation, and no recognition as victims. This is wrong. Families of homicide victims deserve justice, dignity, and support. Families of fentanyl poisoning victims deserve the same. That’s why I am calling for Victoria’s Act — legislation that would: • Recognize fentanyl poisoning victims as crime victims under federal law • Require mandatory restitution from dealers charged or convicted of Death by Distribution • Create a fentanyl victim compensation fund to help families with funeral expenses, medical costs, and trauma support • Ensure dealers who cause death are financially accountable not just criminally charged No family should lose a loved one to fentanyl poisoning and then be abandoned by the system. Victoria’s Act is about accountability, compassion, and justice. It is about making sure families are not destroyed financially after their hearts are already broken. Please sign this petition to demand that lawmakers support Victoria’s Act and stand with families impacted by fentanyl poisoning. Justice for Victoria. Protection for families. Accountability for dealers.
