My dad was tragically killed while loading a vehicle onto the rollback. A distracted semi driver watching YouTube not paying attention to his surroundings didn't slow down or move over. This devastating incident has left my family suffering from this loss. Tow truck operators often find themselves in situations on the road when loading and unloading vehicles, as well as when clearing debris. Their safety is paramount, and yet, current regulations do not provide them with adequate protective measures. My father done everything right that he was suppose to and still lost his life. 

Tow truck operators regularly face the danger of being unseen by oncoming drivers, especially on highways and busy roads. The use of rear-facing blue lights on tow trucks can significantly enhance their visibility, alerting drivers to the presence of a tow truck operator working ahead. This is not just a practical solution; it's a lifesaving one.

Statistics show that each year, a significant number of tow truck operators are injured or killed due to inadequate visibility while performing their duties. These tragedies are preventable. Numerous safety advocates and industry experts agree that legislative change is necessary to protect these workers who risk their lives to assist others.

Passing "Troy's Law" would make it for tow trucks to be equipped with rear-facing blue lights, providing a simple yet highly effective means for safeguarding the lives of tow operators. Such a measure is already in place in several regions, where it has proven to enhance safety significantly.

It's time for lawmakers to recognize the critical need for this change and take immediate action.
