For the last few days, I’ve been pretty sick… What’s interesting is that Tiny seems to know it. Normally she doesn’t lay on my chest because she knows it hurts. But ever since I got sick, she’s decided her new job is apparently 24-hour patient supervision. The moment I lay down, she’s right there. The moment I wake up, she’s checking on me. She has barely left my side. People often ask why service dogs are different from pets. This is one of the reasons. For many disabled handlers, a service dog is more than companionship.
