Australians are currently denied the fundamental right to possess and carry firearms for their personal protection. I firmly believe it is time to allow the Australian people the right to self-defence, in accordance with Castle Laws. This change is crucial for empowering citizens to protect themselves and their families in situations where law enforcement is unable to respond immediately.

This petition is designed not only to help show support for the Right to Possess and Carry Firearms Bill 2025, but also to allow its supporters to share their own opinions and ideas on the situation. 

The Constitution Amendment (Right to Possess and Carry Firearms) Bill 2025 offers a framework for firearm possession and carriage. In many other countries, such as the United States, the right to bear arms is a cornerstone of their constitution, allowing citizens the means to defend themselves and their liberties. 

Statistics show that in nations where firearm ownership is permitted, crime rates involving serious assaults and home invasions are lower because would-be criminals are deterred by the potential risk. Having the legal right to defend one’s home and loved ones empowers individuals and reinforces community safety.

Not only can the passing of this bill deter violent crime and empower the law abiding citizens of NSW, but it also has a strong potential to help deter invasion from aggressive countries due to a well armed population, something that is needed during times of ever growing global tensions and an inadequately sized military.
