Three years ago, I started this petition after my son Henry was tragically taken from me by his father on April 16, 2021. Since then, I have been fighting for a safer Wisconsin. The need for Extreme Risk Protection Orders, also known as Red Flag Laws, is more urgent than ever. Wisconsin needs these laws to prevent tragedies like the recent school shooting at Madison's Abundant Life Christian School, which devastatingly took two innocent lives, and to protect vulnerable individuals from gun violence. In my research, I found that according to a Marquette University Law School poll, 81% of Wisconsinites support Red Flag Laws. Nineteen states have enacted Red Flag Laws with bipartisan support. These laws allow authorities to temporarily confiscate firearms from individuals deemed to be a risk to themselves or others. Please sign this petition to urge the Wisconsin state legislature to enact Extreme Risk Protection Orders/Red Flag Laws and protect innocent lives from gun violence.
