Tragedy struck my family when my 16-year-old son Henry was taken from us far too soon. In the aftermath of his death, I've come to realize that Wisconsin urgently needs an Extreme Risk Protection Order, also known as the Red Flag Law, to prevent similar heartbreaks from occurring.

But despite the urgent need, Wisconsin is failing to take meaningful action. Our state's inaction is devastating. I firmly believe that if Wisconsin had a Red Flag Law in place, my 16-year-old son would still be with me today. The thought haunts me that a simple measure would have prevented his tragic death.

The Red Flag Law would allow authorities to temporarily remove firearms from individuals deemed a risk to themselves or others, potentially saving countless lives. It's a common-sense measure that has already been implemented in many other states.

I'm dedicated to advocating for the passage of the Extreme Risk Protection Orders/Red Flag Law in Wisconsin. I urge our lawmakers to take action and implement this crucial legislation. We can't afford to wait any longer. Let's work together to prevent more families from experiencing the unbearable pain of losing a loved one.
