Insurer Still Yet to Fund Hudson’s Therapy From February

Thank you to everybody who has continued to share Hudson’s petition and support our family in pushing for Hudson’s Law to become a reality. We are so close to 1,000 signatures.

The insurer still has not agreed to fund any of Hudson’s therapy from February onwards and is still deciding whether they will fund his medically necessary therapeutic supports until his comprehensive assessment in June. The fact this is even being questioned is outrageous.

We are fortunate enough to be able to privately fund his therapy after refinancing our home, but the next family may not have the financial means, advocacy skills, or support network to do the same. That should never determine whether a child can access treatment.

Hudson’s brain was exposed to three times the toxic level for his age and weight, well within the life threatening range, for 46 nights. We were given no certainty about whether there would be lifelong impacts or if he would fully recover, yet access to the therapy that supports his recovery is still being questioned.

The support, outrage, and advocacy people have shown for Hudson has been incredibly validating and has helped bring attention to the right people and organisations. We are so grateful to everybody standing beside Hudson 🩵 Please continue to share his petition  xx
