The Issue

The Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana program, enacted pursuant to Act 16, does not permit registered patients to grow any number of plants for personal use.  Moreover, patients of the program are at constant risk of being charged with a DUI, even if they are not medicated, due to cannabinoid metabolite levels being present in blood (rather than actual intoxication, the standard for other prescription medicines).

Last year Senate Bill 1024 (SB1024) was introduced to allow medical patients to grow up to six (6) adult cannabis plants.  Senate Bill 167 (SB167) was introduced to protect medical patients from inaccurate DUI charges.

Pennsylvania medical marijuana patients need these protections, which are afforded by many other nearby states, as soon as possible.  Everyone, especially those suffering from medical ailments, has a right to treat themselves, to provide their own medicine, and to be free of unjust persecution for the same.

Sign this petition to demand that the PA Senate and PA House immediately pass legislation this year to provide these important protections to medical marijuana patients.
