Parliamentary Inquiry into Police PSD Investigations – Stop the Deaths

Parliamentary Inquiry into Police PSD Investigations – Stop the Deaths
The Issue
Who is affected?
Right now, serving police officers, civilian staff, veterans, and their families are being mentally and emotionally destroyed by Professional Standards Department (PSD) investigations that lack fairness, humanity, and oversight. Officers are being pushed to the brink — suspended for months or years with no resolution, no support, and no regard for their wellbeing. I am one of them. I was cleared by the CPS, but PSD pursued me anyway. I nearly didn’t survive it. Others haven’t. This year alone, two serving Hampshire officers — PC Claire Browne and PC Alex Hazlett-Beard — died while under investigation.
What is at stake?
If this continues, more lives will be lost. More careers ruined. More families devastated. The system meant to uphold standards has become a tool for crushing its own. Every time an officer is discarded, it damages not just them — it shatters public trust, destroys morale, and discourages good people from serving. We are calling for a Parliamentary Inquiry because without reform, these abuses will continue behind closed doors. Lives are at stake. So is the integrity of UK policing itself.
Why is now the time to act?
Because we are already losing people. Because silence is costing lives. Because too many officers, staff, and families are suffering in isolation. Because these deaths — these breakdowns — are not inevitable. They are the result of a system that’s been allowed to go unchallenged for too long. We demand an inquiry. We demand oversight. And we demand it before another name is added to the list. Stand with us. Help us stop this. Sign the petition.
