Ci dispiace informarvi che a seguito di complicazioni durante lo sfruttamento ed il maltrattamento presso il Circo Rolando Orfei a Bergamo, il giorno 22 ottobre 2021, Andra è deceduta.
Nonostante l'elefantessa fosse stata finalmente lasciata a riposo e in una sorta di "ricovero", dopo una battaglia burocratica portata avanti dalla Lav di Bergamo e Animal Aid Italia, questo non ha impedito che le lesioni riportate da Andra e la sua sofferenza trovassero ristoro e aprissero finalmente le porte per la sua liberazione.
Siamo affranti e molto dispiaciuti per la fine che questa povera elefantessa abbia trovato in Italia, dopo anni e anni di torture e spettacoli pietosi definiti "arte e divertimento".
Ci auguriamo che la sua morte serva anche per sensibilizzare il più possibile le famiglie a boicottare qualsiasi spettacolo che sfrutti gli animali e a orientare scelte verso altri tipi di intrattenimento dove sono i veri artisti ad esibirsi e non poveri animali costretti a compensare le mancanze artistiche dei loro sfruttatori.
Andra non sarà mai dimenticata, così come i tantissimi animali sfruttati ogni giorno per riempire le tasche di chi lucra sulla sofferenza facendola passare per normalità e divertimento. Chiediamo perdono ad Andra e a tutti gli animali che non riusciamo a salvare per un sistema impervio e di base profondamente materialista e antropocentrico.
Andra sarà per sempre un simbolo di libertà, in un paese che ha dimenticato cosa sia.

We are truly sorry to inform you that on the 22nd October 2021, Andra passed away, after many years of exploitation and mistreatment.
Although Andra was finally left to rest and in a sort of "shelter", after a bureaucratic battle carried out by LAV Bergamo and Animal Aid Italia, this did not prevent the injuries sustained by Andra and her suffering from finding relief.
We are heartbroken and very sorry for what happened to her, after years and years of torture and pitiful shows defined as "art and fun".
We hope that her death will raise awareness as much as possible, so people will realise the importance of boycotting any show that exploits animals and will choose to opt for other types of entertainment where real artists perform and not poor animals forced to compensate for the artistic deficiencies of their exploiters.
Andra will never be forgotten, as well as many animals exploited every day to fill the pockets of those who profit from suffering by making it appear as normal and funny. We ask forgiveness to Andra and to all the animals that we are unable to save because of an impervious and fundamentally materialistic and anthropocentric system.
Andra will forever be a symbol of freedom, in a country that has forgotten what it is.
