Dear Mrs Gregson
Thank you for your correspondence to the former Minister for Transport and Roads about the current reduction in public transport services. I have been asked to respond to you.
I note your comments and acknowledge the inconvenience the current reduction in services is causing the school pupils in your area.
As you are aware, from 10 January 2021 Transport for NSW has reduced weekday public transport services across the State and will run an enhanced weekend timetable on our rail network to ensure continuity of services as we deal with the impacts of COVID-19.
During the Delta variant, we successfully adjusted our timetable to prioritise the safety of our customers and staff while also providing vital transport services for the community. However, currently hundreds of Transport staff are impacted by COVID-19 and we do expected this
number to fluctuate due to the Omicron outbreak.
I have passed your feedback to our rail planners and ask that they consider any changes possible to improve the homeward trip for pupils in your area.
Thank you for taking the time to write to the Minister.
Yours sincerely
